Free Smoke Detectors!

FREE SMOKE DETECTORS!

The Galesburg Fire Department has received a grant to install FREE smoke detectors with 10 year batteries in homes that have occupants ages 5 and under or 75 and older.  Any home in the City of Galesburg fitting this description may be eligible for up to three (3) free detectors valued at over $60.  In addition, with your permission we will provide information and guidance on other safety advice for your home and family including a home safety inspection.

When would be the best time to install?

 The installation, inspection, and review of safety information will take about 30 minutes.  We will phone you before we arrive. Most of the installations will be done this fall.
